‘They were told no and forget about it’: Entitled ex‑tenants try to reclaim the top floor of a family’s three‑apartment house years after moving out, the owners refuse and keep their own son in place

These former tenants treated a three‑apartment family home like a full‑service hotel, then years after moving out phoned back to claim the top floor for their grown son, like leases come with heirloom rights. While they lived there, they camped in the laundry room, tried to pass their trash off on the guy upstairs, parked guests in his assigned spot, and even shoveled their snow onto the space he'd just dug out, all buoyed by proximity to the landlord's boss. Now Junior has a new job nearby, so the ask arrives with a straight face: evict the family's own son so our commute is shorter. The parents laugh, decline, and close the tab on the world's most entitled room request.
